Create it REAL and Ortóiberica are delighted to announce a strategic partnership that will benefit both parties on a technical and commercial level.
This collaboration will introduce 3D printing technology for sitting aids and correction braces with the Embrace Seat and Embrace Corset solutions. Ortoibérica makes both solutions accessible in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco and plans to enhance patient care in these regions. At the same time, Create it REAL will expand its reach and impact in the orthopedic sector.
As a company that provides a range of solutions to the orthopedic sector, Ortóiberica can provide a fully digital CAD-CAM solution when they combine the Pi.Cas.So CAD software with Create it REAL’s CAM solution.
Starting this late summer, Ortoibérica will commence production of 3D-printed corsets, seats, and cushions at its facilities in Asturias, Spain. Each product is meticulously crafted, ensuring a perfect fit and optimal comfort for every patient. This level of precision and individualization is a testament to our commitment to providing the highest quality solutions.
Digital craftsmanship enhances the products
Compared to traditional correction braces, which are shaped from a polypropylene plate, the 3D-printed alternative exploits the advantages of additive manufacturing by offering multi-stiffness. Multi-stiffness allows the professional designer to make rigid zones where the treatment is needed and flexible zones for comfort. The material is the same, polypropylene, but the production method means that the 3D printed brace is lightweight, and the workflow is simpler, faster, and more cost-effective.
Reducing waste and avoiding dust when crafting might be the two most obvious advantages when we compare the traditional crafting of foam seating aids with the additive-manufactured alternative.
Regarding the seating aids, we print in a different material, a certified TPU. With the invention of Programmable FoamⓇ, it is possible to add multi-hardness to the product to customize it to the patient’s needs. The Programmable FoamⓇ seating aids are a high-end alternative that outperforms the traditional foam seats concerning breathability, hygiene, and pressure relief.
Together, Ortoibérica and Create it REAL have a vision of amplifying the portfolio of digital CAD-CAM solutions for the orthopedic industry by expanding with dedicated solutions for producing insoles, prosthetics, AFOs, and more
